MICHIGAN AEROSPACE RECEIVES CONTRACT TO DEVELOP COMPOSITE ETALON MOUNT

Michigan Aerospace recieved a contract from the Office of Naval Research to develop a spaceflight qualified composite or ceramic etalon mount. This approach would have advantages over the existing Michigan Aerospace design, in that it would up to 80% lighter, would offer better thermal stability, and better vibration damping for spaceflight qualification. This award comes in the form of a Phase I SBIR award.
